Adult/Teen "Try the Wheel"
First Visit to the Studio...and Occasional Mud Users (Pre-Register)
If this is your first visit to the studio and you'd like a low-investment way to check it out you may like to sign up for one of these "Try the Wheel" options. Instruction in throwing on the pottery wheel is included and you can sign up for as many workshops as you'd like. Both workshops are usually offered on the first Sunday of the month. Coming in to glaze? If you have one or two pieces to glaze you can expect it to take about 30-60 minutes. We use artisan glazes-- measured and made by hand with materials from the earth. Glazing by dipping is the preferred application method and under glazes are also available for "paint on" applications.
We currently offer one glazing day per month, usually on the fourth Sunday. Check the Calendar for glazing days and times. No need to register, just drop in. CalendarGlazing Fees
$10.00 hour/one hour minimum per person. $8.00 per hour for adults currently enrolled in a workshop.
If you are an adult currently enrolled in a 6-10 week workshop or have taken a workshop at Play In the Mud Studio in the past you are invited to have more clay time/play time during Intermediate Studio. This is also a great opportunity to make up a class. All make-ups must be done during the current session of enrollment. Intermediate Studio is usually held on the second and third Sundays of the month. When space permits, you can also join us during "Adult/Teen Try the Wheel" at the rate listed below.
