Camp & Pottery Workshops 2008...
The Magic Continues!
Sojourn
with us…come and stay awhile. In a woodland setting we will honor our
Playful,
Creative Spirits through art and

"Why
should we use our creative power?
Because there is nothing that makes people so generous, joyful, lively,
bold and compassionate."
--Brenda Ueland

Workshop, Half Day (entering 1st grade through adult...that includes
teens!) Weeks of June 16 & 30, July 21 &
28, Aug. 11 & 25
All
pottery workshops are appropriate for people entering first grade and older.
That includes teens and adults! Yes,
you can take a workshop with your child or enroll students of different ages in
the same workshop. Take some time off and enroll with
your child. Who needs this the most,
anyway?
What
Can I Make?
Play
in the Mud Studio has 8 beautiful wheels and large hand building tables to
accommodate any size project that will fit in our kilns.
During
summer workshops we "once fire" our work.
This makes it possible for students to glaze their own work on the last
day of the session. Students must attend
on Friday in order to glaze as no make-up sessions are available. Pottery will be
ready for pick up in one week. All
firing, glazing and materials are included in the cost of the workshop.
We will share some time
in our tea house appreciating art, nature and friends.
Cooling drinks will be served.
We
have an incredible group of people dedicated to sharing their artistic
inspirations with you. Take a look
at this year's artists and what they are offering!

Opening
Ceremony
with Kasia
Our
opening ceremony ritual is modeled after the beautiful Japanese Tea Garden
tradition in which guests pass through a number of thresholds in preparation for
their experience. Our first
threshold is the outer gate from the street which represents a separation from
the outside world. The middle
threshold is a fountain where we lay down our "weapons" and wash our
hands and mouths in a universal symbol of purity.
Finally, at the third threshold we lay "the dust of our minds"
and the cares of the world into a small hole in the ground.
We are ready to enter the day of creative play together.
